Vancouver and Pius Suter made their mark in the first game of the Western Conference semi-final which pitted them against the Edmonton Oilers. The Canucks won 5-4 after a spectacular comeback.

Trailing 4-1 after 33 minutes, Vancouver kept their hopes alive by reducing the score 3 minutes into the 2nd break through Elias Lindholm. Pius Suter’s teammates then pulled out all the stops in the third period, scoring 3 times in less than 5 minutes.

It was Conor Garland who liberated the Vancouver ice by scoring the decisive goal for the Canucks.

Dakota Joshua was the big winner of the match with 1 goal and 2 assists. Pius Suter failed to find his rhythm. With more than 18 minutes, the 27-year-old from Zurich certainly recorded record ice time in these playoffs. But in the end, he posted a negative balance of minus 2 – also for the first time in these playoffs. The 2nd game of the series will take place on the night of Friday to Saturday, still in Vancouver.
