Returns from injury allow Jean-Louis Gasset to have a choice in determining OM’s starting lineup on the Atalanta pitch, as part of the Europa League semi-finals.

Olympique de Marseille’s training, early Wednesday evening in Bergamo, confirmed the fact that the Olympian squad is almost complete now, with even one last return from injury: that of Bamo Meïté.

Apart from two long-term injuries (knee), Rongier and Nadir, Jean-Louis Gasset finally has the choice, at the best time, that of a Europa League semi-final return which can qualify OM for a sixth European final in the history of the club (Thursday May 9, 9:00 p.m.). The trend on the eve of the match is that Gasset lines up what would look like a typical team.

The probable OM team: Lopez – Clauss, Mbemba, Gigot, Balerdi, Merlin – Veretout, Kondogbia, Harit – Sarr, Aubameyang.

An interesting bench

Sarr, with his speed advantage, and given that Gasset expects a similar match to the first leg with even a little more space to gain depth, is a step ahead of Ndiaye and Moumbagna to accompany Aubameyang.

Whatever happens, the substitutes’ bench will this time have an interesting appearance to allow Gasset to make choices which could have an impact on the match or even in the event of a possible extension. Ounahi, Luis Henrique, Moumbagna and Ndiaye could provide solutions to their coach on the offensive level if it is confirmed that they are not starters.

Gasset wants to keep his group involved until the end and will announce his composition to the players this Thursday.
