Since then, these wooden panels have disappeared. But they will be reborn as a tribute to the past and to this circuit which made Francorchamps famous. “We are going to install 10 panels which will measure 25 meters long and three meters high. And old advertisements linked to races will be affixed there, as at the time. We will also recreate the commissioners’ cabin which existed at that time. It won’t be possible to climb there but it will be a plus. Without forgetting that explanatory signs will be installed to remind people of the races at this location.”

The dressing of this bend obviously has a tourist purpose. “This shows all the attachment that the City of Stavelot has for the circuit and its history. Several parades pass there every year and it’s a bit sad at the moment. Here, it will provide a place of homage.” In terms of the inauguration, “we hope that this will be possible for the centenary of the 24 hours, the last weekend of June. But if this is not possible, we will postpone the inauguration until the time of the F1 Grand Prix, the last weekend of July. It’s a great project, initiated in 2017, which will be brought to fruition.” As for the amount allocated to this project, it is €93,000 including VAT.
