Algeria Football – The article published by Le Monde reveals the impressive salaries of African national team coaches, highlighting that of Vladimir Petkovic, current coach of the Algerian team.

Even if he earns less than his predecessor Djamel Belmadi, Petkovic, with his 135,000 euros per month, remains the best paid on the African continent. For comparison, Belmadi received 208,000 euros per month before being dismissed after a disappointing performance at CAN 2024.

Petkovic, Bosnian-Swiss coach, therefore largely dominates his counterparts, far ahead of the second and third highest paid: Emerse Faé (Ivory Coast) and Hugo Broos (South Africa), who each receive 75,000 euros monthly. Behind them is Moroccan Walid Regragui, who led the Atlas Lions to a historic World Cup semi-final in 2022, on a salary of 70,000 euros per month. James Kwesi Appiah, coach of Sudan, completes this Top 5 with 48,000 euros per month.

The ranking also highlights the salaries of important figures such as Aliou Cissé, former coach of Senegal, 2022 African champion, with a salary of 46,000 euros, and Marc Brys, coach of Cameroon, who receives 44,000 euros.

This hierarchy of remuneration reflects the growing importance of salaries in African football, in particular for the coaches of the continent’s major teams.
