Members of the Foix Karate club took exams to win a higher belt, reflecting their good level. Another success for the sports structure.

Saturday September 21 was an important date for two young karatekas, Matt Casall (18 years old) and Evan MboMbo (16 years old) received their black belt (1st dan). These fighters from the Foix Karate club are beginning their martial journey.

This 1st dan black belt exam took place on the tatami of the Dojo de Foix, Sunday June 9, at the end of the 2023 – 2024 sports season.

The delivery of this national diploma is complex. The candidate faces a jury of three examiners to whom he must show that he has mastered the main techniques of karate.

This change in grade brought joy to their instructor Thomas Gretouce (4th dan black belt), who presented them with the belts. A symbol of respect and formality, but also the heritage of a very rich culture and historical past.

These results are the result of the quality of training and also motivation, with regular and intense training.

This grade is a beginning, towards an increasingly strong level of technique and mastery, on the long path (in Japanese “Do”) towards the perfection of gesture and mastery of energy.
