On the road to a new feat? This is all that the supporters of Stade Langonnais want. After triumphing at the Stade Métropolitain, Langon challenges Rennes, in the semi-final of the French National 2 championship.
Tuesday April 30, 2024, the club revealed the practical information related to this meeting. We didn’t know, until then, where this shock would take place. And Langonnais aficionados can push a phew of relief.
Less than two hours from Langon
We remember that, last season, the choice of the French Rugby Federation (FFR) to organize the Fédérale 1 final in Auch caused people to cringe. Because the Rouge et Blanc had a journey of 150 km to complete, compared to 70 for their opponents, Valence d’Agen.
This time, Stade Langonnais is rather well offmuch better, even, than his opponent.
Because Rennes, for its part, will have to play 330 km from its bases (3h10 journey) while the South Girondins will have a shorter distance to cover: 190 km (1h50 journey).
The meeting between Stade Langonnais and Rennes will take place in Saint-Jean-d’Angély (Charente-Maritime), Sunday May 5, 2024. Kick-off will be given at 3 p.m.
Langon – Rennes, the last two champions of Fédérale 1
For the record, the municipal stadium of Saint-Jean d’Angely is a well-known speaker by Christophe Hamacekwho coached the local team between 2016 and 2020.
Another sweet coincidence: this National semi-final will see the last two teams oppose each other having raised the Shield in Federal 1.
