KHL: Ivan Demidov scores his 4th goal of the season in victory against Cherepovets

Blanked in his previous two games, Ivan Demidov scored his fourth goal of the KHL season on Friday, as SKA Saint Petersburg crushed the Cherepovets club by a score of 8-5.

Demidov worked well recovering the puck in the corner of the ice, and newcomer Tony DeAngelo delivered a perfect relay to the mouth of the net.

The 18-year-old winger lifted his roofer’s stick blade to ensure he had the necessary space to deposit the puck into the goal.

This beautiful display gave SKA a 3-2 lead in the first period.

The Canadiens’ first-round pick, 5th overall last June, now has seven points on his record (4-3) in nine games.

Recently signed by St. Petersburg, DeAngelo had three points in his first game.

The 28-year-old American comes to Russia after having totaled 371 games in the NHL, with the Arizona Coyotes, New York Rangers, Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers.

Saint Petersburg’s next match will be played at home on Sunday, against Kunlun Red Star.
