NHL: Kings in Quebec, many tickets still available

During the NHL preparatory schedule, on October 3 and 5, the Los Angeles Kings will be at the Videotron Center as the host team while the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers will also be visiting Quebec for the two meetings.

The presentation of these matches, subsidized by the Legault government a few months ago, had caused a lot of ink to flow due to the use of public funds to attract an NHL team to Quebec, temporarily, failing to revive the Nordics permanently.

An amount ranging between $5 and $7 million will be offered by the Quebec government to cover the deficits of the operation.

One week before the presentation of the two matches, this deficit situation seems an inevitable reality.

A report from Noovo told us earlier this week that there were 10,000 tickets left for the two matches at the ticket counters. This is an average of 5,000 empty seats per meeting.

A report from La Presse on Thursday morning actually stated that 8,000 tickets were still available since the game against the Bruins was a little more popular in terms of sales.

We therefore find ourselves, one week before the games, with 15% of tickets available for the game against the Bruins and 30% against the Panthers.

As a sum of 5 million dollars has already been paid to the promoter Gestev, behind the event, the balance of 2 million will be assessed based on the reports on the fallout after the event.

At the time of writing, the cheapest tickets are available for $89 on the official sales website. You can pay up to $450 to attend one of these matches, not including resale sites.
