Women’s Champions League. Beaten by Juventus, PSG eliminated before the group stage

The Saint-Germain women’s season is off to a very bad start. In their third match of the season, the team was eliminated from the Champions League. Already dominated on the first leg (1-3), they were beaten on the return leg (1-2) by Juventus Turin, Thursday September 26 at the PSG campus in . A real disillusionment for a team which had participated in the last six editions and had reached the semi-finals four times since 2019-2020.

Unable to create a situation during the first half hour, narrowly missing in their rare situations, Fabrice Abriel’s players scored their only goal from the penalty spot (Leuchter, 53′).

A single French representative

Boosted by their large victory in the first leg, having played more matches since the start of the season, their Turin opponents were never worried. The quick opening score from Cantore (2′) and the good anticipation at the near post from Bonansea (72′) never gave PSG hope.

Automatically qualified, Olympique Lyonnais will be the only French club qualified for the final phase of the 2024-2025 Champions League since Paris FC is off to a very poor start against Manchester City.
