Club Brugge has revealed its selection for tomorrow’s trip to Charleroi. Still no trace of Hugo Siquet.

The fate of Hugo Siquet at Club Brugge is quite strange: after getting back to health at Cercle (until being called up for the first time by the Devils), the 22-year-old right back took a step forward by signing at the enemy Blauw en Zwart, reigning Belgian champion.

Except that the native of Marche-en-Famenne is having difficulty establishing himself there: starting at the start of the championship, his benching coincided with the team’s return to business. Worse, he is gradually disappearing from circulation.

After not coming off the bench in Kortrijk, he skipped the selection altogether last weekend. It will be the same for tomorrow’s trip to Charleroi. Siquet is not among the 19 names selected.

Third choice on the right

If the Club seemed to be the ideal stage to compete in the Champions League in a starting position, the former Standard player perhaps did not expect such strong competition. Unfortunately for him, his position is one of the most extensive.

Former U21 coach, Nicky Hayen knows perfectly the qualities of Kyriani Sabbe and Joaquin Seys, two great hopes of the Club who are competing for a starting place…ahead of Siquet. With Maxim De Cuyper and Bjorn Meijer (still injured) on the other flank, the backs are ready. We will also note the new absence of Jorne Spileers, who will undoubtedly play with Club NXT.
