In brief:
  • The sixteenth edition of DécouvRire returns to Cossonay after an exceptional year in 2023.
  • For this edition, the festival welcomes discoveries, to reconnect with its basic formula.
  • Yann Lambiel will sponsor the event.
  • Around 60% of hoped-for ticket sales have been achieved so far.

Last year, the move of the DécouvRire festival to the Théâtre du Pré-aux-Moines, in Cossonay, coincided with the 15e edition of the event anchored until then in Saint-Prex. To mark the occasion, a bunch of headliners were invited.

After an exceptional year 2023, particularly in terms of public presence, the sixteenth edition reconnects with the DNA of the event. “We returned to the usual format and therefore invited discoveries,” explains the president, Francine Rochat. These are established artists who tour in their respective countries, although they are not necessarily known here.”

Double audience

This migration towards the top of the district, due to the abolition of municipal aidproved beneficial for the humorous event which can now “count on the audience of the PAM theater, in addition to those who were accustomed to Saint-Prex”, raises the person responsible for the event.

The one that works when you fall in love and scours performance halls and festivals highlights the diversity of artists in this 2024 vintage. “It’s not just stand-up,” she emphasizes. They all have their own universe, their personality, their style.”

This year, comedian and impersonator Yann Lambiel will sponsor the event. Host during the three evenings, he will perform on stage this Thursday, during a duet with the imitator Laurent Chandemerle.

The fame of those who played “all over Europe and Canada” with the show “Les 4 Sans Voix” is good news for the organizing committee which, without worrying too much about ticketing, considers that it has not achieved for the moment only 60% of expected sales.

“The French-speaking Swiss public likes to see what they know,” explains Francine Rochat. Discovery is daring for many! For this reason, it can sometimes be difficult to get people to come.”
