Mir angry with Marquez… and Race Direction
Descriptive text here

Joan Mir was 8th in the Jerez sprint when he was hit by Marc Marquez during an overtake on lap 10, demoting him to 11th. The Honda rider then expressed his dissatisfaction: on the one hand, regarding his opponent’s attempt; on the other hand, because he considers that it was worth a more severe sanction than having to give up a position.

Comments collected from Joan Mir in Jerez this Saturday.

“I had a good start but then I lost a few positions due to contact in turn 2. I managed to get back behind the group where there was Aviat Oliveira and Raul Fernandez. I was ready to attack on the last lap, then Marc came and touched me, making me lose four positions. Then he passed Oliveira in the same way, and for all that he had to give up a position. It’s absurd. »

“My last penalty dates back to Portimao 2023, a double Long Lap after a maneuver on Quartararo where I was the one who ended up on the ground. This time, for everything he did, Marc only had to give up one position. I would like to understand how certain penalties are given because it is not possible to have two such different methods or judgments. It was an unfair overrun. »

“I don’t understand Marc’s maneuver. If he had waited three seconds he would have overtaken me without any problem. I don’t understand this overtaking because we weren’t fighting for the podium. It’s amazing how the Stewards evaluate these actions. In my opinion Marc should not have done that. »

“Today it’s difficult to overtake properly in MotoGP. I am a pilot open to contacts. But today it’s a completely different story, because I was taken to the outside, I lost several positions and Marc shouldn’t have come in like that. It’s a shame because I felt good today. »
