Limoges CSP beats Nanterre and gets its Betclic Elite season off to an ideal start

While the CSP squad is one of the youngest in the Betclic Elite 2024-2025, it was legitimate to wonder about the ability of this team to start its championship well this Sunday against . The truth, of course, came from the field. At the end of a sluggish match, Jean-Marc Dupraz’s players took back the lead in the 35th minute and never let go again, winning 90 to 87. An evening during which French interior Kenny Baptiste was dominant.

Kenny Baptiste 1st MVP of the season

Very present from the start in rebounding and scoring, he quickly paid for his two quick fouls by returning to the bench. With much better foul management in the second half, he was even more productive to finish with 15 points at 100% shooting including 2 out of 2 at 3 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists for 24 evaluation in just over 25 minutes. Very profitable first outing in the Limoges jersey! We understand why coach Jean-Marc Dupraz placed him in his starting 5. and not Malik Osborne, generally disappointing.

While this victory was obviously a collective one, other players also played well. Captain Nicolas Lang finished with 18 points, shooting 5 out of 12 in his attempts to find the opposing circle. US guard Trevon Bluiett had 16 points 4 out of 8 shooting and 5 out of 8 free throws. Another very interesting player, US point guard Tyrell Terry. After a very difficult first half, he continued to improve his level of play to finish the match with 16 points, shooting 4 out of 8, including 2 out of 4 from afar, and 6 out of 6 from the penalty line.

Tyrell Terry already very interesting

A good player who will however have to improve in defense to hold his 1 against 1. But he clearly has basketball. In the image of this young and promising team that was able to overcome, and without ever panicking, a Nanterre team deprived of its American Franck Jackson and where the pivot Justin Tillman (23 points, 27 evaluation) was not enough. It was only the first match of the season but this inaugural success allows to trigger a positive dynamic, before going to the North to face Gravelines next weekend.
