Top 14 – Clermont: injured in one foot, Folau Fainga’a could be done with his season
Descriptive text here

An important player in the Clermont squad this season, Folau Fainga’a could have already finished his season. The Australian hooker (38 caps) fractured his big toe two weeks ago and is expected to be out for several more weeks.

For being a blow, this could be a real blow. An indisputable starter at hooker since the start of the season, Folau Fainga’a was injured two weeks ago. As reported by our colleagues from La Montagne, the Wallaby with 38 caps fractured his big toe during a scrum session before the against the Cheetahs.

This injury will keep him away from the field for several weeks. His absence could even last up to two months. The last day of Top 14 being played on the weekend of June 8 and 9, Fainga’a could only play again if the Auvergnats qualify for the final phase, or during the accession play-off. The last appearance of the heel with the ASM dates back to March 23, during the reception of the Section. In total, the former Brumbies player took part in 17 meetings with the Jaunards during the current financial year, including 14 as a starter.

Beheregaray and Fourcade will share the position

Against Ulster last Saturday, Yohan Beheregaray started. The latter was replaced in the second act by Étienne Fourcade.

With the absence of Fainga’a, these two men should share number 2 in the coming weeks. In traffic, we must not forget Robin Couly either. The one who played in the last U20 Tournament with the Bleuets is currently number 3 in the hierarchy and could well have playing time during Clermont’s next outings.
