LFrance is on the podium until the last day of the Paralympic Games events. Kayaker Nélia Barbosa won the silver medal in the 200 meters in the KL3 category, in Vaires-sur-Marne.

The title went to the British Laura Sugar, defending champion and triple world champion. The German Felicia Laberer completed the podium. Nélia Barbosa had already won this silver medal at the last Paralympic Games three years ago.

75e French medal

Third in the world championships, second in the European championships and Olympic vice-champion in Tokyo in 2021, the 25-year-old Frenchwoman fulfilled her goal of reaching the podium at these home Games. Her victory in the series allowed her to qualify directly for the final without going through the semi-final.

Nélia Barbosa, who had her right ankle amputated at the age of 18 due to neurofibromatosis, brings the 75e medal to the French delegation, which finished these Paralympic Games in eighth place in the medal table. This Saturday, September 7, the French blind football team won the Paralympic title, on September 19e and last for the tricolors.
