PHENOMENON – The 23-year-old Chinese armless swimmer won his fourth title of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games on Friday, with a second world record to his name. All after a 50m butterfly… with only one breath in total!

Chinese torpedo Jincheng Guo definitely made his mark on Friday at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The 23-year-old Chinese swimmer has indeed wowed the Paris La Défense Arena pool twice since Thursday. First, there was this triumph in the final of the 50m freestyle in the S5 category (moderately limited coordination, very limited movement of the mid-torso and legs or no limbs). At the end of a crazy race during which he only raised his head above the water once, Jincheng Guo broke his own world record to race towards gold in 29.33 seconds.

The French public then discovered the incredible style of a swimmer with a shaved head, no arms (and no goggles), with a dive time of… 13 seconds, much longer than all his opponents, cutting through the water with prodigious undulations.
