FC Nantes are close to signing a striker, but that could fall apart at the last minute.

Nantes could be close to making his first signing of the winter transfer window. They have made signing an international striker from DR Congo a priority. According to information from Foot Marketthe FC Nantes approaches Young Boys striker and Congolese international Meschak Elia.

Discussions are said to be underway between the two clubs for a loan with or without a purchase obligation set at 2.5 million euros. The player profile has been approved by manager Antoine Kombouaré and owner Waldermar Kita, but recruitment manager Baptiste Drouet is said to be less enthusiastic.
