€10,000 gross per month and an 18-month contract is the salary of Étienne Beugré, striker recruited 10 days ago from Maribor, Slovenia. That's almost 10 times more than Carroll's compensation, and double that of many players on the roster.
“The club's management persists in management that goes against the grain, proving that it has no control over its sporting project or its financial policy.”
The Girondins Socio association, which represents almost 3,000 members, reacts by publishing a post on LinkedIN:
“At Girondins Socios, we note with concern that, despite the establishment of a salary cap set at €5,000 gross per month, the current management of the Girondins de Bordeaux seems to be moving away from it (…) While the majority of the workforce is forced to respect this salary cap, how does management justify this violation of the rules that it itself established? How can we explain to other players, who are fighting for the club, that? they have to settle for €5,000 while a new arrival gets double that?
It is essential to remember that players, such as Étienne Beugré, are not responsible for these discrepancies; they simply accept the conditions offered to them. It is the management of the club which, once again, persists in management against the grain, proving that it masters neither its sporting project nor its financial policy.
-As a reminder, the average remuneration in Ligue 2 for the 2022/2023 season was €8,172 gross/month. Bordeaux plays two divisions below, in National 2, the equivalent of the 4th division.
