the best young people from the French championship had a blast for the 1st edition!

In the middle of the NBA week in , the LNB brought together the best young French players to compete in front of a prestigious audience made up of NBA scouts and international journalists. The LNB Young Star Game kept all its promises in terms of the stakes and the exposure of the young people. The result? Victory for Team Rigaudeau, thanks in particular to a huge Noah Penda, MVP of the match.

A match with the 20 best young people from the first two divisions of French basketball, the Espoirs championship, and INSEP. A cocktail of talent which did not fail to liven up the evening in Levallois-Perret. Yes, because you shouldn't be fooled by the name of the event: Young Star Game does not mean All-Star Game.

Here, there is no question of being polite and putting on a show. No, we are here to play, to show off. And there are good reasons to do so. Beyond the presence of Vincent Collet, Pascal Donnadieu, Régis Boissié and Guillaume Vizade on the benches to lead the young people, almost all NBA franchises had sent scouts to watch the match.

Proof of the party's interest in the United States, ESPN's Draft expert, Jonathan Givony, flew to attend the meeting. Just like AJ Dybantsa, announced first choice of the 2026 vintage and who was on site. He said to himself “impressed by the level of play of the French“. And there was indeed something to see: Noah Penda (), Mohamed Diawara ( Basket), names mentioned in the mock draft current.

For the seasons to come, we were also served until the generation… 2009! Aaron Towo-Nansi (Cholet Basket) and Nathan Soliman (INSEP) were the youngest of this first edition. We may well see them again very soon, probably for a second edition… and until then, in NM1 and in Espoirs.

The evening itself was intense, with a match first dominated by Team Sonko then which saw the youngsters of Team Rigaudeau come back to win. No courtesy for a mix of players which worked well in each team, Sonko and Rigaudeau having been able to mix talents well to obtain two complementary formations.

The 3-point contest was decided between Evan Boisdur and Roman Domon, two residents of BCM Gravelines. It was the second who won on the last shot, nice suspense.

What do we remember from this event? That it is a superb showcase for our championship and its training system. For the first time, young people are in the spotlight of an event of this type and this should not only motivate them but also encourage the general public to show more interest in the national U18 meetings, the Espoirs championship, the NM1 , Pro B… because it is in these championships that our international champions of tomorrow are hidden!
