For this 7th and penultimate day of the group stage of the competition, Real Madrid, 20th out of 36 in the ranking, hosts Salzburg, 32nd, at the Bernabéu. As a reminder, in this new format of the Champions League, the first 8 are directly qualified for the 8th finals, while the teams finishing between 9th and 24th place will go through a round-trip play-off, a sort of 16th final.
Real Madrid must therefore take points from the last two matches (Salzburg and Brest) to access the qualifying phases.
