Real Madrid – RB Salzburg: the probable compos

Real Madrid and RB Salzburg face each other this Wednesday in the Champions League (9:00 p.m., Canal+ Foot).

For this 7th and penultimate day of the group stage of the competition, Real Madrid, 20th out of 36 in the ranking, hosts Salzburg, 32nd, at the Bernabéu. As a reminder, in this new format of the Champions League, the first 8 are directly qualified for the 8th finals, while the teams finishing between 9th and 24th place will go through a round-trip play-off, a sort of 16th final.

Real Madrid must therefore take points from the last two matches (Salzburg and ) to access the qualifying phases. For the reception of the German club this Wednesday, five Madrid players will be absent. The four injured Carvajal, Militao, Tchouaméni and Camavinga, as well as Lucas Vazquez, suspended for accumulation of boxes.

Ancelotti will therefore have to recompose his defense, and should align Fede Valverde on the right, Fran Garcia on the left and in front of Courtois an Asencio-Rüdiger hinge. In the middle, Ceballos, Modric and Bellingham.

Vinicius will make his return up front after missing the last La Liga match due to suspension, accompanied by Mbappé up front and Rodrygo on the right side. It is therefore likely a 4-3-3 which will be deployed by the Real Madrid coach for this meeting.

Probable XI of Real Madrid: Courtois, Valverde, Asencio, Rüdiger, Fran Garcia, Ceballos, Modric, Bellingham, Vinicius, Mbappé, Rodrygo

Probable Salzburg XI: Schlager, Capaldo, Dedic, Baidoo, Guindo, Bidstrup, Gourna, Douath, Yeo, Gloch, Nene, Ratkov
