For his new mandate at the head of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez has set a roadmap structured around five major projects.
Florentino Pérez was officially re-elected president of Real Madrid on Monday. As in the four previous elections, no one applied to try to oppose Perez, which means that the latter was automatically re-elected for four years, until 2029. For this new mandate, the president set its roadmap, made up of 5 major projects.
Develop the club structure
Florentino Pérez's board of directors wants Real Madrid to transform the club's ownership model to make it a limited company in which the Socios would be 49% shareholders. The 51% would remain in the hands of the Real Madrid Foundation. “We want to guarantee that the members remain the true owners of the club and its economic assets,” said Pérez, who called for a referendum on the issue.
Win the new LDC
The titles are what largely made Florentino's success, in addition to his galactic recruits. Between the football and basketball team, his track record at the head of the club is astonishing. So, seeing the club with 15 European crowns continue to impose its hegemony on the continent is obviously a clear and stated objective. The Champions League in its new format must end up in club windows as quickly as possible.
A title for the women's team
-This is one of the challenges that Real has set itself in the short term and for the years to come. The women's section has been in constant progress since its foundation in 2020, but it is still missing this famous first title to initiate its history. A Copa, championship or European title, it doesn't matter, the objective is to see the women inaugurate their showcase as soon as possible.
Launch the Superleague
In April 2023, the announcement of a Super League caused a real earthquake in the world of football. But the project quickly melted like ice in the sun in the face of the anger of the supporters and the withdrawal of the clubs involved. A setback for Pérez, the main initiator of the project, but who nevertheless never gave up the idea of one day seeing his Superleague dethrone the UEFA Champions League. In open war with Ceferin, the president of Real Madrid will not give up, and will certainly take advantage of these four new years at the head of Casa Blanca to move forward on this project.
Leave in style?
Some sources in Spain suggest that this will be Perez's last term in charge of Real Madrid. The Spanish businessman will be 81 years old once this new mandate is over, and it will be 20 years since he returned in 2009. This is why, according to Relevo in particular, Florentino would consider hanging up in 2029 , while still taking care to have found and trained his successor.
