Mike Maignan (ex-LOSC) appointed captain in Milan, first spoiled by Timothy Weah (ex-LOSC)

Last bastion of AC Milan, Mike Maignan was recently inducted captain by Sergio Conceiçao, his new coach. His first was however spoiled by Timothy Weah, scorer.

What is certain is that there is never a dull moment in Milan, where the Mastiffs particularly shone a few years ago. New arrival at the head of the club, Sergio Conceiçao recently took stock of the hierarchy in his workforce. Paulo Fonseca, his predecessor, favored a certain rotation regarding the armband, which is not to the taste of the Portuguese technician, whose choice fell on Mike Maignan.

“Mike Maignan has this personality that I like. It's a winnerconfided Sergio Conceiçao at a press conference before traveling to Piedmont. Théo (Hernandez) too, but that really shouldn't be a concern. A captain must not worry about so-and-so and so-and-so, otherwise he forgets what he has to do even if everyone has the responsibility to do their job well.expressed the Portuguese.

This first under the Conceiçao era did not, however, unfold as could be expected in the collective imagination. If Mike Maignan did not fail in his duty as captain, AC Milan collapsed on the lawn of the Allianz Stadium. Solid and more enterprising during the first act, the Rossoneri were shaken up after returning from the locker room, to the point of conceding two goals by Mbangula (59′) and Timothy Weah (64′), given that the former Mastiffs like to make people talk about themselves on the other side of the Alps, and a logical defeat (2-0). The French international made good saves, four in total, but it was not enough for Turin. AC Milan are eighth in Serie A, currently out of the qualifying places for any European competition.
