Hard blow for the metropolis

The failure of the renegotiations of the contract between SBA, the company which operates Matmut Atlantique, Bordeaux Métropole and the club should push SBA to file for bankruptcy in a few weeks. Le Figaro even gives a temporality. It would be late February early March.

The structural deficit, combined with the loss of income linked to the fall of the Girondins de Bordeaux in the 4th division, the loss of Naming and the absence of upcoming events this year, plunges SBA towards a bankruptcy filing and the end of the PPP .

If this bankruptcy filing is confirmed, it will now be up to Bordeaux Métropole to ensure the maintenance of the structure and its operation.

“If SBA is liquidated tomorrow, Bordeaux Métropole is ready to take over the maintenance of its equipment. It's her job, she will know how to do it. What she won't know how to do is go find concerts to make it profitable“, recalled Chrisitne Bost, president of Bordeaux Métropole during her wishes.

Furthermore, this takeover by the Métropole would not change anything in financial terms for the taxpayer, because there remains €85M to be repaid as provided for in the initial contract indicates Bordeaux Métropole.
