a human skull placed on the Porge dunes found by a walker

An investigation was opened by the gendarmerie after the discovery of this bone on Sunday. At this stage, the identity of the potential victim is not known.

A human skull was placed on a dune of the Porge in a place that is normally not frequented by walkers. Reported by an onlooker to the gendarmerie on Sunday afternoon, around 4:30 p.m., it was taken to be analyzed by the forensic institute – where it was delivered on Tuesday.

At this stage of the investigations, the identity of the victim to whom this skull belongs is still unknown. Investigations are underway to identify it as quickly as possible.

The skull of a missing woman?

Deposited too far from the ocean to have been brought back by the waves, this skull a priori belongs to an adult human. The searches carried out around its location did not lead to the discovery of other bones, suggesting that a corpse would have been buried there.

Could it therefore be the skull of this missing woman, part of whose remains were found on Lion Beach in Lacanau last July? The hypothesis, which must be explored, remains very uncertain given the great distance (around 15 kilometers) which separates the two beaches.
