The Coriance group was selected by Metropole Val de Loir Tourse to support it in the energy transition of its territory. Green energy from Tours Métropole, subsidiary of the Coriance Groupwill have the mission of creating and then exploiting a heating and cooling network powered 90% by renewable and local energies.
The company will invest €92 million to create dedicated heat and cold production means, in particular a biomass boiler of approximately 20 MW, a pump thermo-fridge, and a cold production plant connected to the waters of the Cher.
25 km of hot network and 5 km of cold network
In total, 25 km of hot network and 5 km of cold network will be created to serve the cities of Chambray-lès-Tours, Joué-lès-Tours, Saint-Avertin as well as the Deux Lions district in Tours.
This new network, the first work of which will begin in 2025, has several advantages:
- Improving air quality by replacing fossil fuels with renewable energies, thus avoiding tons of CO2 emissions each year.
- Provide residents with heat at a competitive and controlled price over time, uncorrelated with fluctuations in the price of fossil fuels,
- Contribute to the energy independence of the cities crossed by the network.
