OM leaders would have received an offer for Lilian Brassier but it would come from abroad, not from Stade Rennais, also interested.
In its Monday edition, L'Equipe will provide an update on the Lilian Brassier case. And confirms that the central defender will no longer be an OM player by the end of the winter transfer window. The first recruit of the last offseason, he arrived escorted by a flattering reputation, after a historic 2023-24 season achieved for Brest. Loaned with a purchase option of €12 million, he was to be the ideal complement to Leonardo Balerdi. But nothing went as planned. Brassier failed to break free in the white jersey. On the contrary, even: due to disappointing performances, he completely lost confidence, sinking against Auxerre (1-3), a match during which Roberto De Zerbi took him out at the break. Since then, he has had to settle for a few minutes at the end of the match.
A German club made an offer
According to L'Equipe, the leaders of OM have received an offer, but it does not come from Stade Rennais, which would be very interested in the former Brest player. It would come from Germany, the sports daily putting forward the names of Wolfsburg and Stuttgart. RC Lens would also have entered the game to recruit the central defender, the Sang et Or having sold Abdukhodir Khusanov to Manchester City.
For Marseille leaders, it now remains to reach an agreement with their Brest counterparts. Because SB29 did not want to include the sale of Brassier in the accounts for the 2024-25 financial year. They wanted it to be for 2025-26, when OM would have exercised their purchase option. Once the two have reached an agreement, the transfer of Lilian Brassier will be formalized.
