FC Nantes continues to make waves during this winter transfer window. While the club was very close to securing the services of Amine Salama, Stade de Reims striker under contract until June 2027, the transfer now seems compromised. An agreement had, however, been found between the two clubs, validated by Antoine Kombouaré himself, who saw in Salama an ideal profile to strengthen his offensive sector.
An unexpected turn of events
Despite the validation of his recruitment, Amine Salama will ultimately not join the Canaries. According to information from ParisianNantes would have abruptly interrupted the discussions, warning the player of the postponement of his signature. This change of course would be linked to internal differences within the Nantes management, thus putting the matter on hold.
Management of the transfer window which calls out
This cancellation echoes another complicated file for the people of Nantes: that of Francis Coquelin. The club were close to signing the experienced midfielder, who has been free of contract since leaving Villarreal. However, a recent injury to Coquelin, which will keep him away from the field for one to two weeks, slowed down this operation. This double setback in the negotiations raises questions about the strategy adopted by FC Nantes for this winter transfer window.
