Even if Antoine Kombouaré has been confirmed as coach, FC Nantes clearly does not rule out changing coach in the coming months. Among the profiles studied, that of Zoumana Camara is gaining momentum.

The year 2025 is off to a better start than the end of 2024. FC Nantes has stopped the bleeding and the messy defeats. After holding on to a draw in Lille (1-1), the Canaries also shared the points with Monaco (2-2). Two teams cut out to play leading roles and two good results before going to ASSE and hosting Lyon. A slightly more positive dynamic for Antoine Kombouaré, confirmed in his position as coach.
The Camara track studied
Before the winter break, FC Nantes studied several profiles. Sergio Conceiçao and Habib Beye took turns talking with the Kita family. Two avenues which did not come to fruition, due to the lack of being able to convince the Portuguese technician (who has since signed for AC Milan) or to reach an agreement with the staff of the Canal + consultant. But a third profile was surveyed. That of Zoumana Camara.
Camara still in the race?
Former PSG captain, Zoumana Camara led the Parisian U19s until last season. Now, he wants to take up a challenge in Ligue 1. FC Nantes could offer himself to him next season. The Kita clan appreciates him a lot and could offer him a chance… After banking on experienced technicians, the Canaries could try their hand at the new generation and try to implement a project over two to three seasons, without the chance of a coach. Something that Waldemar Kita has never managed to do since 2007.
