If ASSE will have to wait until Sunday evening to face Paris Saint-Germain, the 17th day of Ligue 1 began this Friday. Three matches were on the program this Saturday: Brest hosted Lyon, Reims faced Nice, and Rennes challenged Marseille.
Stade Brestois shines with its exploits on the European scene, but shows a much less attractive face in Ligue 1. The Bretons hosted OL this Saturday and absolutely had to obtain points. Lacking results, Brest remains close to the relegation zone. For their part, OL, a very happy winner against Montpellier last weekend, wanted to put on a better face. Later in the afternoon, Stade de Reims hosted OGC Nice. Beaten without contest against ASSE, the Rémois had to quickly get back up to avoid fears in the weeks to come. A big piece awaited them, since they faced Aiglons in the race for European places. Final score: 2-4 in favor of Nice! Reims is no longer moving forward.
Finally, to round off the day, Stade Rennais welcomed OM to Roazhon Park. A real shock for this 17th day of Ligue 1. However, Rennes is going through a complicated season. Very active on the transfer market, the Bretons wanted to send a strong message. Not easy against an opponent who shines outside. Result : OM victory ! 1-2.
