While Olympique Lyonnais remains subject to a recruitment ban imposed by the DNCG, the club was able to get around this obstacle thanks to an ingenious stratagem. John Textor, owner of OL and leading figure of Eagle Football, orchestrated the free loan of players from the clubs in his network, notably Botafogo. This method allows it to strengthen the Rhone workforce without directly violating the restrictions in force.
