It’s the transfer window and Pablo Longoria is having a blast. The OM president is heading to Italy to try to bring back a first-choice player at an extremely reduced price.
Roberto De Zerbi made it clear to his president, OM’s recruitment priority for this winter is defense. Luis Felipe arrived from Saudi Arabia, and the Italian-Brazilian arrives for zero euros after being released from his contract at Al-Ittihad. A real reinforcement for a very low cost, even if the former Lazio Rome and Betis Sevilla player will not be paid in restaurant tickets either. This first success, while no player has been sold for the moment, does not slow down Pablo Longoria, who seems to have had the green light from his coach but also from the owner Frank McCourt to pull out all the stops in order to build a capable team to return to the Champions League next season.
Longoria pushes, Danilo executes
This is why Pablo Longoria decided to return to Italy, to a club he knows well: Juventus Turin. The president of OM wants to sign Danilo, captain of the Piedmont club but who was put aside by Thiago Motta. Six months before the end of his contract, the Brazilian, who played for Real Madrid, FC Porto and Manchester City, was pushed out at 33. But for all that, Juventus refuses to let him leave for free, and asks for a transfer fee of 4 to 5 million euros. This is where the Spanish leader of OM intervenes. According to TMW, Longoria is pushing Danilo to find an agreement to terminate his contract and thus arrive freely in Marseille. And it works, since Sky Sports mentions the first discussions between the Italian club and the lawyers of the Brazilian side, for whom this situation can no longer continue. A gesture is expected to be released from the last six months of his contract for services rendered, knowing that Danilo had been a Juve captain since 2019 before his brutal sidelining.
