More than a year after the events, the prosecutor’s office chose to close its investigation into the stone-throwing of the OL bus before the match against OM. The fault lies in the absence of identified authors.

The management of theOL was waiting for justice to be done in the case. Ultimately, nothing will happen in the case of the bus stoned in October 2023 on the Marseille side. On January 6, the Marseille prosecutor’s office closed its investigation, which had been open for more than a year, and the arrival of the Lyon club on the banks of the Canebière. This decision comes after the difficulties in identifying the author(s) of projectile throwing which had accompanied the journey of the busOL between his hotel and the Vélodrome stadium to face theABOUT. Analyzes to collect DNA had been carried out for a year, but yielded nothing.

It’s a lost battle for OL who were keen to see the troublemakers found and convicted. In this ambush, Fabio Grossothen coach of the Lyon team, had been hit in the face and came within a few millimeters of losing the use of his left eye. In this story, only two individuals will have been arrested the same evening of October 29 and sentenced in immediate appearance, for throwing stones and smoke bombs. It should therefore stop there, to the great regret of the Lyon club, which reacted through Laurent Prud’homme. “We take note of this decision which we deplore. All our thoughts are with Fabio Grosso, seriously injured during this attack. He can therefore never be recognized as a victim of this violence”.
