Mahamadou Diawara, OL midfielder (credit: David Hernandez)
Lacking playing time at OL, Mahamadou Diawara is not sure he will stay this winter. The young midfielder pleases and Reims would have submitted a refused offer.
This Thursday, he did not participate properly in the day’s session. With Wilfried Zaha and Paul AkouokouMahamadou Diawara quickly left the rest of the OL group to go and train on a side field. A “recovery session” for the three Lyonnais “decreased and sick” in recent hours according to Pierre Sage. A simple precautionary principle which should not, however, make us forget the situation of Diawara between Rhône and Saône. The young midfielder has had to make do with crumbs since the start of the season and is more often left on the fringes of the group than present during green matches. This situation would not necessarily please the former Parisian Titi who would like to be able to continue. Its representatives would also have passed the information on to Lyon management, so that a solution could be found this winter.
A future now far from OL?
Will Mahamadou Diawara set sail? The promising profile of the midfielder is far from being unmoved, particularly in Ligue 1. In recent months, FC Nantes or even the RC Lens had shown an interest while abroad, the Celtic Glasgow and Villarreal were also among the contenders. In recent hours, a club has also appeared. As argued by Foot Mercato and L’ÉquipeReims would have taken action to Diawara with a first offer. The latter of €3.5M would have been rejected by OL, who are asking for more for their number 34. In any case, the future of Mahamadou Diawara should no longer be written to OL in the coming weeks.
