Olivier Létang keeps repeating it, there is no question of Lille weakening this winter by selling its best players. Which does not prevent certain clubs from trying their luck, like for Edon Zhegrova.
After a successful first part of the season, Lille logically shined the spotlight on some of its players. Top scorer in Ligue 1, Jonathan David is attracting envy as he will be free next June. But the Canadian international is not the only LOSC player to arouse the greed of major European clubs. Since last season, Edon Zhegrova has also been closely watched. And even if for the moment, his 2024-2025 season is a notch below the previous one, the Kosovar international remains closely followed. The proof, Fabrizio Romano reveals that the leaders of Naples approached the Lille staff in recent days to show them their interest in Edon Zhegrova.
Lille is not selling in January
The Neapolitan club greatly appreciates the 25-year-old right winger and could quickly submit an offer to the Mastiffs to try to recruit him. A departure in January would, however, be surprising. Olivier Létang actually responded to Napoli that Zhegrova was not on the market during the month of January. It now remains to be seen whether Naples will push hard, or whether the Italian club will patiently wait until next summer to try its luck again. Lille can in any case expect to receive big offers for the Herford-born player, for whom a departure will arise next summer if he has not extended by then, while his contract expires in June 2026.
