The very worrying press release from AC Ajaccio, in the sights of the DNCG

A press release which is unlikely to reassure AC Ajaccio supporters. Demoted as a precautionary measure to National 1 by the DNCG at the end of the season, the Corsican club made worrying revelations this Thursday on its official website with withdrawals from potential buyers: “As we announced several months ago, the Club was looking for a buyer likely to ensure the sustainability of the institution… Our financial situation, always limited, suffered two very hard blows. The sponsorship contract duly signed with a Portuguese group was not honored! 5 million budgeted euros thus disappeared… Mr. Fattaccioli, in charge of finances for several years, had to solicit investors to recover part of the funds guaranteeing the loan for some of our land…” we can read at first.

The ACA in great danger…

It then says: “This year, after being informed by the authorities that we had to present a budget based on the television rights of the previous season, it turns out that 2 million have disappeared due to the spectacular drop in said rights. With the urgency of a sale becoming pressing, Mr. Fattaccioli, in contact with a group of buyers, signed a sale protocol with effect from August 31. The buyers undertook to ensure the maintenance of the club and planned the construction of a hotel of which 50% of the income would go to the ACA. After asking for a postponement until December 31, while guaranteeing their commitment, they finally withdrew. We therefore find ourselves in a critical situation. It must be clarified that Mr. Fattaccioli's good faith cannot be called into question since he himself found 3 million euros paid to the club at the end of last June. We are mobilized to find a solution even if there is reason to be worried! Obviously any real estate transaction which would not guarantee the maintenance of the club will be refused. We were hoping to have better news for this year“. Time is running out…
