Olympique Lyonnais is preparing to experience an intense winter transfer window, dominated by the need to reduce its bloated workforce and meet the requirements of the DNCG. Between planned departures and uncertainties, the Rhone club hopes to find a financial balance without sacrificing its sporting ambitions.
Anthony Lopes leads the starts
Among the most anticipated departures is Anthony Lopes, relegated to fourth place in the goalkeeping hierarchy this season and without any minutes played. The Portuguese goalkeeper, after a summer without a solution, is now forced to find a new base to relaunch his career. Alongside him, full-back Saël Kumbedi, overshadowed by the performances of Maitland-Niles and Mata, is also expected to leave.
Painful choices in the middle and in attack
In midfield, Maxence Caqueret, now replacing behind Tolisso, Matic and Veretout, could be transferred to replenish the coffers. A sale estimated at around fifteen million euros is envisaged. On the offensive side, Gift Orban and Wilfried Zaha are leaving, while Rayan Cherki's future remains uncertain despite his wish to stay. A significant offer could, however, convince Lyon leaders to let him leave, especially with the potential arrival of Thiago Almada.
A transfer window under high tension
Faced with economic and sporting constraints, OL will have to make strategic choices. Between workforce reduction and arrival management, each decision will be crucial to approach the second part of the season in the best conditions.
Supporter of En Avant de Guingamp, the best of the Breton clubs, I prefer to meet Yannis Salibur, Cristophe Kerbrat or Jeremy Sorbon rather than Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Sergio Ramos.
