We learned shortly before the Coupe de France match yesterday, between the Girondins de Bordeaux and Stade Rennais, that the historic trainer of the FCGB, and great servant of the Club, Pierrot Labat, had died at the age of 89 . The two groups of Bordeaux supporters, the North Gate Bordeaux and the Ultramarines, had a few words for him today.
THE Ultramarines First of all :
“For years, he shaped and trained the greatest talents of our illustrious club, helping to make the Girondins de Bordeaux a historic monument of French football. To his family and loved ones, we send our most sincere condolences. Goodbye Mr. Labat.”
Then, the North Gate Bordeaux.
“Our great institution mourns the loss of one of its most illustrious coaches and trainers. The North Gate sends its deepest condolences to the family, loved ones and all those who were touched by his immense talent and dedication. Rest in peace Mr. Labat.”
