In West , Maxime Poundjé gave his news. The one who has been without a club since the summer of 2022 explained that he had not stopped playing football.

“I didn’t stop playing football, on the contrary. I am always looking for a project to continue my professional career. I really want to play and I continue to practice it on a daily basis. I feel very good physically.”

Today, he has a dual project. “I am still at the Girondins de club as part of my training in the management of sports organizations (of which he validated the first of two years). The DUGOS is a diploma which is set up by Europ Sports Reconversion, the retraining branch of the UNFP (National Union of Professional Footballers) and the Girondins de Bordeaux club is my host structure.

Last summer, there were discussions for him to come and help out, like Driss Trichard in his position.

“It was a direct discussion that I had with management, even before the club could form a team at the start of the season. I was not there at the time but I informed the club of my availability. I have always had the habit of speaking frankly with people since the start of my journey with the club (he joined pre-training at age 11). It didn't happen, for reasons that I keep personal, between management and me. But know that I have always had good relations with the club. Whether it’s him or me, we’ll always find a way to help each other, whether there’s anything we need.”
