This Sunday, ASSE concludes its season with a Coupe de France clash against Olympique de Marseille. After a series of three consecutive losses in Ligue 1, the club decided to part ways with Olivier Dall'Oglio. His successor will officially be in place for the resumption of training scheduled for December 29. In the meantime, Laurent Huard is acting as interim leader and has chosen the following group for this meeting.
Just two weeks after their last league duel, ASSE once again welcomes the team led by Roberto De Zerbi to the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium. This time, the issue is qualification for the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France. In opposing dynamics, the two formations find themselves with very distinct ambitions and staff of unequal quality. For the Greens, the mission will be to believe in it until the end. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:45 p.m.
A diminished ASSE team
Facing Marseille, ASSE must deal with numerous major absences. Nade, still convalescing after a knee injury, is being spared to avoid any risk of relapse. Boakye, in the rehabilitation phase, is not yet ready to return to competition. Thomas Monconduit is also unavailable, as is Aïmen Moueffek, still hampered by a crutch received during the match against Rennes.
Added to these absences is that of Ben Old, whose knee problem continues to slow him down. Yvann Maçon, recovering after an operation, also remains away from the field. These packages constitute a real headache for the technical staff, who will have to rely on the cohesion and youth of the squad to stand up to a formidable opponent.
However, some good news clears the picture: Mathieu Cafaro, suspended during the last two matches after his red card against Rennes, is back and ready to bring his experience and liveliness to the team.
