Horneland’s first day in Saint-Etienne in pictures!

ASSE formalized the arrival of its new coach this Friday. Eirik Horneland, the Norwegian coach, is therefore the new conductor of the Saint-Etienne pennant team. He will officially take office on December 29, the day the Greens take over. He will therefore be on the bench for the first time against on January 4, 2025.

Huss Fahmy gave a glowing portrait of his new coach during the introductory press conference. Convinced and proud to have recruited this new member for the Kilmer Sport project, the board considers taking a big step forward for the club: “Eirik will bring us a framework. This is going to be essential for the players and for the fans. Eirik's style of play is very committed, very offensive. I think this will help us develop something coherent for the future. We spent a lot of time with Eirik and realized that he was the one we needed. We started observing him as a coach and he ticked all the boxes. Then we looked at him as a person and he ticked all the boxes again. It's really in the details, through the attention he pays to the game that we are convinced that he is the person we need.”

An intense day for Horneland (ASSE)

The day was intense yesterday for the new Stéphanois. Eirik Horneland visited the entire ASSE infrastructure. Indeed, he took a tour of the club museum, got to know the cauldron and its changing rooms but also met all the staff present on site (players, staff and members of the smooth running of daily life). He obviously ended with a press conference at 4 p.m. in the company of Huss Fahmy and Loic Perrin to present himself to the press and deliver his first words as ASSE coach.
