Last Saturday, ASSE rather coldly announced the ouster of Olivier Dall'Oglio from his position as coach. OM's reception on Sunday in the Coupe de France will be with Laurent Huard as coach, even if Kilmer Sports has just appointed Eirik Horneland as new coach. But the problem perhaps also lies elsewhere for Sainté… This is what Bertrand Latour suggested on the Canal Football Club set last Sunday, pointing the finger at the Saint-Etienne squad.

“If the problem at Saint-Étienne was Olivier Dall'Oglio it would be very good, it would mean that they will quickly recover. I think Saint-Étienne's squad is too weak at the moment. Salvation will certainly come through the winter transfer window and the contribution of certain players to turn the club around but there is no miracle. We have seen it in the clubs which have already made changes of coach: I do not believe that Montpellier has been transformed since Jean-Louis Gasset arrived, I do not believe that Rennes has been transformed since Sampaoli has been there. I do not dispute the contribution that Gasset and Sampaoli can make. I just think that the coaches work well and I think that it's a bit like society: we take and throw away things quite quickly. The coaches are the quickest fuses to blow since it is easier to change a coach than 23 players… But the best thing is to have chosen the 23 players better,” said the journalist, in comments reported by EVECT.
Kilmer will therefore have to make several moves this winter to straighten out an ASSE currently blocked from Ligue 1.
