Skriniar in Türkiye, PSG rushes to Bournemouth

Eager to replace Milan Skriniar in the next winter transfer window, Saint-Germain have reportedly set their sights on young Ukrainian central defender Illya Zabarny. However, an operation considered complex for several reasons.

It's an open secret. Paris Saint-Germain has never managed to be satisfied with the performance of Milan Skriniar since his arrival in the summer of 2023. The Slovak central defender has the fourth highest salary of the Parisian club with more than 16 million euros per year , but does not justify his emoluments by his sporting performance. Sidelined by Luis Enrique, Skriniar is pushed out more than ever by his management. Galatasaray is also very eager to sign him in recent days. To replace him, PSG already has a strong idea. Steps have even been taken to recruit Ukrainian talent Illya Zabarny. But the file promises to be complex.

PSG has found its defender, at what price?

According to information from L'Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain have set their sights on Bournemouth central defender Illya Zabarny. Aged only 22, his market value is skyrocketing. This, thanks to a sequence of high-level performances which allows Bournemouth to flirt with the elite of English football. Today valued at 38 million euros, he is favored by the Parisian club since the latter has already opened discussions with the English team. However, several factors show that the matter is not so simple.

An indisputable starter for the Cherries, the Ukrainian international is under contract until June 2029. His market value is already quite high knowing that he plays in the Premier League, it is not impossible that the Parisian club will have to spend a sum crazy to get it. In the event that negotiations between the clubs are successful, we must then ask ourselves whether the player would agree to come to Paris. Geopolitics indeed has its say, as reported by the French sports daily which wonders if the presence of Matvey Safonov will not be a brake in the choice of the Ukrainian.
