After seven months of silence, PSG wishes Mbappé a happy birthday

Saint-Germain wished Kylian Mbappé a happy 26th birthday this Friday via a message published on social networks. This is the first time since the striker's departure for Real Madrid that the Ile-de- club has mentioned him.

Entangled in a legal conflict around unpaid bonuses and salaries, PSG and Kylian Mbappé live a complicated relationship. But in the wake of the striker's laudatory remarks for the Ile-de-France club, Paris did not fail to wish him a happy birthday this Friday.

“Happy 26th birthday Kylian Mbappé,” wrote the Ligue 1 leader in a message published on social networks. Beyond mentioning his X account (formerly Twitter) or Instagram, this is the first time since last season that PSG has a thought for the attacker. On X, Paris Saint-Germain had never mentioned the name of the captain of the Blues

PSG radio silence since May

Top scorer in the history of PSG, Kylian Mbappé had a turbulent final season before signing, free, for Real Madrid in July. Deprived of any compensation for the departure of the French star, the Ile-de-France club had not made mention of him on X since May 30 and his nomination with Lee Kang-In for the best of the 2023-2024 campaign in League 1.

No mention of Kylian Mbappé, captain of the France team, during Euro 2024 played in Germany. Including during the period when the striker was still technically under contract with PSG throughout the month of June.

Mbappé's words for PSG

In the same way, the Ile-de-France club had not really reserved a tribute to Kylian Mbappé before his summer departure. But now, before this message from PSG for his former player, the Frenchman who is celebrating his 26th birthday had nice words for Paris in a television program.

“I spent seven years at PSG, it was an honor,” recalled Kylian Mbappé on the beIN Sports channel. “I think maybe I didn’t say it enough, didn’t show it enough, but I was always aware of where I was and the great club that PSG is.”
