Transferred to Galatasaray last summer after being loaned by Chelsea, Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech expressed his desire to leave the Turkish club in the winter transfer window, six months before the end of his contract.
Hakim Ziyech's adventure in Türkiye seems to be coming to an end. True to his reputation as a player too elusive on and off the fieldthe Moroccan winger did not use wooden language when he was questioned about his future.
When most players hide behind their contract, he goes straight to the point. Linked to Galatasaray until the end of the season, he wants to leave the Istanbul club this winter. “Galatasaray is over for me. I don't want to play here anymore. I'm leaving in January,” the 31-year-old told Turkish journalist Haluk Yurekli.

“I have never seen a coach of such a low level”
Hakim Ziyech had, however, had a very convincing first season in the Süper Lig. Loaned by Chelsea, the former Ajax Amsterdam striker, little spared by injuries, had actively participated in winning the Turkish championship title with six goals and three assists in 18 appearances.
But after a definitive transfer made last summer, the machine broke down, in particular because of his relations with Oka Buruk, a coach who made him play less whom he did not hesitate to attack publicly: “I don't I've never seen such a low level coach. I don't care. I want to be left alone. At the end of his contract in June 2025, Hakim Ziyech is free to discuss with the clubs of his choice from January 1. Turkish media have mentioned Stade Rennais as one of the possible avenues for the Moroccan international.
