Will Still’s RC Lens, which failed to return to Europe this season, is in 6th place in Ligue 1 after a lively summer transfer window and the departure to OM of Elye Wahi for around 30 million euros. But after the abortive departures of El Aynaoui to AS Monaco and Danso to AS Roma, the Artesian club wants to continue its downsizing operation because club president Joseph Oughourlian wants to balance the accounts and lower the payroll. The sporting director, Diego Lopez, was charged with this mission and warned the agents that no player is untransferable. The Sang et Or are therefore preparing for a huge departure of one of their executives during the winter transfer window according to information from L’Equipe.
Danso and Khusanov top the list
The three big central defenders of the team, Medina, Danso and Khusanov are being tracked by several clubs but it is the last two who seem to be the priority. The club even commissioned famous agent Jorge Mendes to find a base for the 26-year-old Uzbek. Management is banking on a starting price between 25 and 30 million euros but hopes to get more with offers from the Premier League with interest from Newcastle, Leicester, Manchester City and Tottenham. For Danso, he is also on the move with Southampton, Wolverhampton and Villarreal watching him. The idea is to sell only one so as not to unbalance the stability of the team but to recover at least 44 million euros. Other players could leave the club like Samba, Frankowski, Andy Diouf, El Aynaoui, Mendy and David Pereira Da Costa if serious offers come on the table.
