He has no responsibility for our recent results,” said the Argentinian technician. Praising the professionalism of his goalkeeper, Sampaoli insisted that a change in this position was not on the agenda.

The coach also clarified that if adjustments must be considered in the squad, it is not the performance of Steve Mandanda which is in question. “Today, I don't really ask myself any questions about the identity of the goalkeeper. If there are positions to think about, they are others than that of goalkeeper,” he added, dismissing thus the rumors of imminent recruitment for this position.
