The Blaugrana have called an extraordinary general meeting to vote on an agreement with Nike.
FC Barcelona has announced that members will be asked to vote on the deal with Nike for the American sportswear company to manufacture their equipment for the next 14 years. Officially, no figures from the agreement have been revealed.
The Blaugrana have called an Extraordinary General Assembly to vote on the deal, which will take place on December 21 at 10:30 a.m. CEST. This Friday falls one day before their last match of 2024, at home against Atlético de Madrid.
45 million euros at stake
It comes as opposition groups are calling for more transparency, both on this deal and other issues, with Barcelona saying Nike has asked for details to remain confidential, as is their usual practice.
The Catalan daily Sport claims that the new contract will bring in an extra 45 million euros per season, although the current contract already runs until 2028. The new lease runs until 2038, and from 2028 Barcelona are expected to earn 60 million additional euros per year, according to this information.
