Elected player of the month for October in Ligue 1, Zuriko Davitashvili spoke to BeIN Sport before the rout in Brittany. The ASSE striker answered various questions.
Best L1 player in October
Zuriko Davitashvili (ASSE Striker): “It's very good for a football player to receive an individual award. Without my teammates and the staff, I would not have been able to accomplish anything. My first thought is always the team, then come the individual awards. But it's always a good thing for a player to see his efforts recognized, and I must continue in this direction.
A hat-trick and emotions
Zuriko Davitashvili (ASSE Striker): “These emotions were unforgettable. I will always say it and say it again: this match was the best of my career. The atmosphere at the stadium, at home, the support of the supporters, it was a huge motivation. After this hat-trick, the emotions were even stronger. You can see it in the videos and for me it was a memorable evening. I hope there will be many more like this. I celebrated with my family, my wife, my parents, my child. It makes me think about what I've accomplished so far. What makes me happiest is seeing my work rewarded. It’s a great joy because we put in so much effort that people don’t necessarily see. For me, all of this is reflected on the pitch. And when you achieve these kinds of results, you are satisfied with yourself, because you know that everything you do is not in vain.”
ASSE can count on its Public
Zuriko Davitashvili (ASSE Striker): « First of all, there are the supporters, the fans, the atmosphere in the stadium at home, during home matches. All this helps us to give the best of ourselves. That doesn't mean we don't make an effort at away games, but there is an extra energy that comes from the fans. Even if you don't want to do something or if it doesn't work, this energy pushes you to do it anyway. In my opinion, this is an advantage that we have at home. Hopefully now we will start getting away wins and points. I think all the league 1 teams play good football. We too have experienced difficult times, but that doesn't mean we're going to give up!
