Franck Haise did not mince his words after the heavy defeat of OGC Nice against Rangers (1-4) in the Europa League. The Nice coach is furious and deplores the numerous absences which have undermined his team.
OGC Nice: Franck Haise denounces a worrying situation
This Thursday, the Aiglons experienced a nightmarish evening. OGC Nice lost heavily against Glasgow Rangers (1-4), a result which seriously compromises their chances of qualifying for the Europa League. This defeat at home is all the more cruel as it comes after a series of injuries which decimated the Nice squad.
Franck Haise, the coach of OGC Nice, did not hide his frustration after the meeting. “We don't have the capacity to string together high-performance matches every three days. The injured, 13 players less… These are not good times to live through”he lamented. The Nice infirmary is full to bursting, with key players like Jérémie Boga, Dante and Jonathan Clauss, all unavailable.
Despite this difficult situation, Franck Haise refuses to give up. “As long as there is a possibility, I want us to compete to the fullest”he said. However, hopes of qualifying seem to be dwindling day by day. With only two points in five games, the task promises to be difficult for Gaëtan Laborde's teammates.
This European defeat is a hard blow for OGC Nice, who have had an honorable run in Ligue 1, occupying 5th place in the standings. Franck Haise's men will have to get up quickly. The OGCN will have to find solutions to strengthen its squad and deal with this series of injuries which has been handicapping the team for several weeks.
