Having left FC Barcelona permanently in the summer of 2023, Francisco Trincão could bring big returns to his former club.
Purchased in 2020 from Braga, Francisco Trincão never managed to establish himself at FC Barcelona. The winger played 42 matches in Catalonia, scoring only 3 goals. Loaned to Wolverhampton then to Sporting, the 24-year-old permanently joined the Portuguese team in the summer of 2023, for 10 million euros. In the transaction, Barça took care to include a buyback clause of 20 million, or 50% of the profits from a resale.
An advantage in the Gyökeres case?
An interesting possibility, especially since Trincão is attracting interest from major clubs, reports The Game. Indeed, Bayern Munich and Manchester City sent recruiters to supervise him during the Champions League match against Arsenal, scheduled for this Tuesday at 9 p.m. The FCB is monitoring the situation closely, and could use its advantage as an opportunity in the Viktor Gyökeres file, the dream striker for the post-Lewandowski era.
But, for the moment, Barça is not considering buying Trincão, and would even be ready to give up its rights to him if this would lower the price of Gyökeres. There have been discussions about this, but the final choice will be up to the Swedish striker. For his part, Trincão (4 goals and 10 assists this season) is under contract until 2026, and is not yet considering his future.
